Hearing on Forest Service Proposal to rescind the Roadless Area Conservation Rule - hosted by the public

The National Forest Roadless Rule established in 2001 protects 45,000,000 acres of National Forest including 240,000 acres of the 800,000 acre White Mountain National Forest.

The Forest Service is in the process of resending the Roadless Rule. When the Roadless Rule was initially established, there were 600 Public Meetings held across the country to get public input. In the process of rescinding the Roadless Rule there are no public meeting scheduled. This meeting will be a chance for local stakeholders (hiker, hunters, anglers, nature lovers, bird watchers, artists) to discuss the future of the Roadless Rule.
