NH Wildlife: Get Closer to Nature with Live Animals

Join a Squam Lakes Natural Science Center naturalist and meet up to three live wild animals that you may encounter in our forests, fields, or wetlands. You will get a chance to meet this animal ambassadors up close and personal. Learn about their places in larger ecosystems and discover what makes these animals well-suited for life in New Hampshire—or even for life right in your backyard. Animal visitors will cover a selection of species that are native to New Hampshire and may include reptiles, raptors, and mammals.

While we can't predict exactly which fascinating creatures will join us, there's a thrilling possibility that you might encounter an owl, raptor, porcupine, skunk, opossum, woodchuck, turtle, or bat. Up to three of these amazing creatures may be visiting us. The lineup really depends on the week leading up to our event and the well-being of each animal, so come with an open heart and prepare for whatever surprises nature has in store. It's bound to be an unforgettable experience.

A friendly reminder we also have a discount price to go visit Squam Lake Natural Science Center, by using our museum passes. In 2026, they are celebrating their 60th anniversary. To check our other passes, use this link Museum Passes | Conway Public Library
