Understanding Clinical Trials: How we know if medications and vaccines are safe and effective or not

This is an online event over the zoom platform. Click here to register.

Please Join Dr. Eric Shelov, as he discusses what goes into the Clinical Trial Process. He will discuss how clinical trials are initiated, how research participants are recruited, the phases of clinical trials, how data is evaluated, and how the final approval is made if the medication or vaccine is deemed safe and effective. Understanding what goes into clinical research of medications and vaccines helps us build confidence in medications and vaccines that help us stay as healthy as we can be. There will be a brief presentation and time for questions and answers.

Eric Shelov, MD, is associate chief medical information officer and an attending physician with the Division of General Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
